Rainbeau, I have three CD’s of yours and I must tell you I really enjoy learning your way of yoga, along with your positive affirmations. Today during my 8-mile tempo run, I heard your voice in my head telling me to push if I wanted to reap positive results—it worked well, thanks! Nevertheless, I was wondering if you would help me out by giving me a “chant” that I may use when negative thought pervade my head during moments of exhaustion during my interval, tempo, and long run workout (I am a distance runner). Thanks for being in my life!

Hello Rainbeau, I have always been interested by Yoga but also intimidated. I would like find out what "type" you do as I would like to find a class to gain that strength and flexibility. There are always many different types of yoga listed and I'm not sure which one to choose. If you have any other tips for a beginner those would be appreciated too. Thank you and may you be safe in all your travels.

Hi CaliClair, Thank you for your question. I have actually developed my own system that draws upon the therapeutic benefits of yoga, while being enhanced with martial arts movement and Olympic level core conditioning. I am shooting a beginner’s ra'yoka (the name of the system) /adidas yoga video very soon and hope to release in early 09. Other then than... I still love my Yoga For beauty DVD's... Basically, I recommend, focusing on the details and really working smart, before working hard. Trust that the right thing will come to you. Thank you and keep up the good work. Rainbeau

Hey rainbeau, this is a simple question, but since its an asana used so much... how do you lift from downward dog? i always feel my lower back strain when i go into the svanasana pose from lower plank (or chatterunga (sp?))- also- will you be coming out ith a dvd on HOW to progress into advanced poses- I'm an advanced beginner/intermediate level, cant afford classes, and still have not found a dvd that will teach students to advance into arm balances. you show yourself doing those hard asanas at the beginning on pure power- but there were none in the flow!!! thanks rainbeau, you have inspired me to keep giving to the practice!!!! much light!!!

Dear China Cat, To lift in Downward facing Dog, imagine that your arms are like straws, sucking energy up from the earth. As well, I like to bend my knees and maximize the feeling of opening in my sit bones… like French Doors opening and black birds flying out. Allow your spine to lengthen away from the pelvic floor. I agree with the picture on Pure Power, they are representative though of the video in the sense that doing that basic alignment stuff is really how to do the advanced. We must go back to go forward... however. The advanced workout that I have out with adidas right now is great. Its available though select stores and I am working on more programming as we speak and will keep your suggestion in mind. I love to play with the fun stuff as you can probably tell, but for now, embody every cell of your body and have a complete understanding of how every centimeter works of what you already have, then the rest just comes. Go inside to go out. :) Blessings and keep it up. Rainbeau

Hi Rainbeau~ Hope you are having a good weekend. I am very interested in learning more about the chakras. Which book/books do you recommend? This is all new to me, but I am eager to learn more. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you so much! Blessings, Jessica

I really love everything that Anodea Judith has to say about the subject. She has an incredible DVD, audio-learning programs and I am assuming books. I have just known about them my whole life because my mother and Godmother taught me and I had about 15 ragananda dolls, which are little rag dolls with, colored chakras for buttons. :) Good luck. Let me know what you find. Thank you, Keep illuminating. Rainbeau

Hi Rainbeau. Thanks for your response. My kids are very excited that there might be a Rainbeau Mars video just for them! I've been doing some reading about chakras and I have a question about the color associated with the crown chakra. I know in your meditations you say it is purple. I'm reading a book that says it is white. Most of what I find on the internet also says purple/violet. So I'm wondering what is the difference, or is it just a matter of interpretation. Also, the author, Brenda Davies, states that the brow chakra is erroneously referred to as the third eye. Again, I only find it called Anja, or the third eye. Do you have any insight into this? It's all too new to me. Thanks so much! Sue P.S. I love having the ability to ask you these things!

Suedon, Hi... I am glad that your children are excited, so am I. Purple, white… what matters is how it feels to you, but I think that some people connect it to white, because of the idea of the lotus flower, which comes in both colors by the way and that white is the omni presence of all colors together at once. As far as the sixth Chakra, he third eye, ajna area... again, a matter of interpretation and many different ways to explain the same thing. The color connected to this area is indigo. You will also find that there are seven chakras in the body but 11 if you are looking above and who knows you could probably find a book that talks about more. Keep it simple, finds what works for you and remember to use these tools a way to bring you in to your body rather then too much in your head.:) Thank you for the questions. Blessings and say hello to your kids for me. Rainbeau

Hi Rainbeau, first off...you are a truly amazing role model. Keep doing what you are doing.... I am experiencing adult acne. I thought it was due to nursing my son but I have stopped for a few months now and it still exists. I have seen a homeopathic doctor but that hasn't helped. Do you have any tips? i am follow a strict vegan diet and try to use natural products. Namaste

Read the below one and if you have any other questions, please let me know. Stay beautiful P.S. Vegan is great, but does not do it if you are still eating bread, fried foods, lots of sugar, or possible allergenic. I doubt you are, but just a reminder…for some people, implementing a little fish and eggs might be what you need. It just depends on what you need to do, to create more balance and harmony within. Blessings, Rainbeau
