“Integrity is doing what we say we are going to do.”
Of course, someone needs to talk the walk, others can walk the walk, but few of us can actually walk the talk.
We go one Step, we do our best to improve, and yet – As simple as it can be in the beginning, the commitment to build a truly lasting foundation is not always easy.
I think the question is…Who are you REALLY and what were you before? With this awareness we can learn from the past and we can gaze into the future. Commitment to cultivating our most authentic selves possible is something we are all working towards. We need to first decide the direction we are headed and then be sure to assess each situation and choice we make as a road sign, making sure that it is pointed in that same direction.
1. Getting on the Mat and finding one pointed concentration – the practice of focusing ourselves fully into doing a posture, or sequence in a way to support presence, loyalty, and commitment. When it gets difficult, when your mind wanders, notice…can you come back. Can you breathe, can you stay focused on the moment, finding that if you stray, you come back to that focus again and again…Yogis call it Chitta Vritti Nirodaha – ONE POINTED CONCENTRATION. We can find this of course in martial arts, at the gym, in our personal sport, on a surf board, or even in the garden.
2. Can we decide what our goals are for ourselves and then let our actions be in alignment towards those goals? Can we do that for one day, two days, …try 21? HAIL TO THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE JOINING ME ON THE 3 Week Fresh Start right now; It’s always SUCH A PLEASURE. Those of you that are not on the daily emails and conference calls, can follow along on an abbreviated level to the ra’yoKa cleanse that is given as a bonus in the ra’yoKa DVD (currently half off, in gratitude for everyone’s support and to make up for shipping costs).
3. Each Time we do what we say we are going to do – We strengthen our confidence, pride, and courage, as well as people’s belief in us. It’s a very good thing to practice and most of all, it feels great to know we are setting a positive example to the people around us. They will wonder why we are beginning to manifest the things we want, and when we can share these tools with them, they’ll feel empowered to do likewise.
4. Whatever we focus on expands. I know that all I can do is my best. I have faith and trust that we all are and its up to each one of us to keep raising our own bar, to do better, better and get to our own best. It’s not about what anyone else is doing; we compete only with our own ideal, with our potential always challenging us to progress further. For example, I can make commitments and do my best to meet them, but if I do not, I must observe what impeded or compromised me and must renegotiate with the person I committed to, or myself, according to the reason I had to break my integrity. Patterns become habitual and we may consistently break our integrity to ourselves if we are not sitting fully in the driver’s seat of our own lives – so let’s place our hands on the steering wheel!
5. First We Have to Know Where We are Going – Then we need to make sure we are headed in the right direction. First working slowly and conscientiously, until it becomes second nature – Remember, work: first Smart, then Hard.
6. It takes the mind about five to seven times of saying it’s going to do something before it does it… like checking out a new fitness system, yoga studio, cleanse, program, dance club, art class or language – you name it. Situations that involve transitions, or when it gets too easy, or when we are not held accountable, is where focus and integrity can get a little muddy… ultimately we are only cheating ourselves. Find ways to write down your goals, talk to friends, or a support group to make yourself accountable and more firmly dedicated to meet your goals.
7. One of the Best resources when we seek to nurture ourselves, like in the 3 Week Fresh Start, is the Group Support. For instance, we raised our hands and repeated our commitments to each other- to become accountable. It’s so refreshing to feel free to speak your fears, lacks, and limitations on paper or out loud, before you throw it away, and then meet with a friend or group, to direct focus away from that limitation and instead concentrating on what you are planning to do next. Place far more attention on who you really are and where you know you are going rather than sitting with or holding on to the past of where you’ve been. Stay in communication, support each other, and give more – which is how you get more.
8. It gets easier. As we develop this network of self-blossoming minded peers, we not only a role model of our virtues, but we also surround ourselves with other bright lights whom have their own special gifts to emulate. My representative, Lon Rosen has such a hard time being late, because he is always on time, or early and I must tell you it’s one of the most attractive qualities in the world to me. No wonder he represents some of the world’s biggest stars. I observe qualities that I like in people and I do my best to apply them in my own life.
9. Every day is an opportunity for each of us to align with where we are going and to allow anything that does not support that vision, to fall away. With each choice, you can just change your story… is it working for you or against you?
COMMITMENT.
I know that nothing tastes as good as feeling good feels. I am committed to FEELING MY BEST! I am committed to Loving myself and the people around me with compassion, empathy, support, quality time and doing what I say I am going to do.
I am committed to my practice. To finding some time every single day to get so my ra’yoKa, either at the stairs, in a room or to a dvd at home. I will spend time meditating on the different levels that exist inside me and internally organizing. Allowing that to resonate into the center and the world around me, from the office to the sock drawer, it’s all a manifestation of what’s happening inside and vice versa.
I am committed to the next level of success… I let all past experiences go.. all I can be is who I am right now. I am fearlessly jumping. I trust in what’s to come, but the flying time in the air of free falling is glorious.
I am committed to serving my community and I know that sharing is a way that I can truly help the world be a more beautiful place.
I am committed to doing the best I can.
I am committed to my 3 Week Fresh Start – to serving and leading teachers to the best they possibly can and having the best training here even in November.
I am committed to fully activating myself and my art and sharing through every media platform possible, from the micro to the macro.
I am committed to breathing fully into my destiny.
Today.
What is in the way is the way.
World – Here We Come- ready, willing and able to play! I say YES!

It was very encouraging to read up on aiming towards our authenticity I have found this a challenge a lot of the time and then I berate myself for it for not doing what I said I would do. I seem to talk loads and feel the enthusiasm to become fitter, found out what my passion is in life and aim to set up my own business. I have not been able to commit to my set goals and makes me feel powerless.
I’m not ready to give up so I would love to hear what really worked for you and how you remained determined to achieve your dream.
