Still floating from the sea of light, lessons and purity I experienced in India.
In some ways – staying up all night and sleeping all day – not quite ready or willing for the veils of a standard LA life to come back. Finding the balance between the lucid and the dream-like.
I can see my Ego fighting to stay alive, to eat as much junk food as possible and to remain in bed as long as possible. After all, India was too profound, and here I am standing for myself as well as everyone around me.
When I wake up these days, it’s business as usual – school, mortgages, taxes, cars, tickets, emails, phone calls, deadlines, workshops, trips… hmmm… welcome home.:) I am not complaining; it’s just not where I just came from. YET.
All this – and I want to share a very special story with you while it’s still fresh in my mind.
I was given two very special tickets to a really cool event, a celebrity Basketball game that included my daughter’s favorite… Justin Bieber. Magic Johnson was coaching, and well, a whole lot of other celebrities were scheduled to participate.
Magic Johnson and I have the same representation, Lon Rosen. So my daughter Jade and I received the tickets from Lon, and Jade was possibly going to be able to meet Justin Bieber through Lon. I was not so amused having not received the same invitation as I am secretly a big fan as well! Nonetheless, children always come first… BUT HAVE YOU HEARD THE ALBUM? The kid has skills, puts the groove in the mood and makes you want to dance
It was a rainy day. I decided to honor our LA basketball teams colors and wear a Gold shirt that I had just brought home from India. Perhaps it played a part in our luck?
Somewhere in between school pick up, navigating LA in the rain, buying a car charger (so if that special moment came, I would have enough battery juice to take a picture), I LOST MY TWO TICKETS that had been hand delivered by Mr.Lon Rosen earlier that day.
We were already downtown at the LA Convention Center. As some police officers directed me where to park, I tried to act as smooth as possible when Jade and I searched our car and my purse ten times over. Where, oh, where those tickets poofed into thin air, I still don’t know. That’s not the point of this story.
I remained calm. I focused on what mattered: our health, wealth and the knowing – that whatever the circumstance – if it is meant to be (this is key), then we would be there, and maybe just maybe we would get to meet Justin. So I texted Lon.
I said, “Uhm… I lost my tickets – guess I’ll see you soon.”
He said, “OK.” I said, “Really – nothing you can do?” He replied, “Not our game – not a real arena – no way to track.”
I went to “WILL CALL”, and I tried to buy, track, find, reprint. They said, “This a sold out game. There is no way we can track your seats. There is no way you can buy them, and there is nothing we can do. By the way, did we mention it’s only for celebrities?”
I asked an executive from NBC/Univeral who was picking up tickets for various events at Will Call if he had an extra ticket. He told me to hold on. I see now that the 20 minutes I spent with him, focusing and thinking something would come through with him was the universe organizing. He realized he did not receive tickets to this celebrity basketball game. However, talking to him had grounded me, had reminded me of India and even now, I know each moment is part of the next.
I asked a couple of other people if they had an extra ticket to no avail.
Just as I may have considered leaving, one girl came up to me and said “WE HAVE ONE TICKET.”
That is all I needed to hear. I chose not to focus on the fact that there was two of us. I kept my focus on the goal. It was a sign. Don’t give up yet – Go with the flow – Don’t be defeated until you are.
We walked confidently to the arena entrance, swarmed by a seeming overwhelming amount of security. Just breathe. Focus. Flow. One of the girls with us handed all the tickets to the security officer, as Jade and I very gracefully walked in.
SO excited that we were in, Jade and I gracefully blew our helpful new friends kisses as Jade and I ran off to find Mr.Rosen. I wanted to assure him that the time he had spent getting the tickets had not been wasted!
The game had already started so we sat down. Lon texted me to come behind the bench… I then realized we were not near where he was, and we needed to be at Center Court. UH-OH, another section manned by security that we need to see tickets we didn’t have!
Big Breath… I very nicely explained the situation to a man with some credentials around his neck, and he said, “I would love to help, but I doubt they will” as he pointed to the guards.
I confidently said, “Lets try.” We did, and it worked. It took getting through two more sets of security guards to get to our manifested seats as we smoothly made our way to them with purpose. We were in the perfect position to watch the game, right next to the net Justin Bieber was shooting in. Jade was super excited. That’s all that mattered to me.
Lon said via BBM, “I am sitting behind Judtin.” he had misspelled and I Somehow, I read that he was “Judging” – so I thought I shouldn’t bother him further. Now I realize he had meant Justin, but I was not suppose to know that yet. An hour later, I responded to him because Jade said, “Will I get to meet Justin?”
I texted Lon several times at that point. The game was almost over, and he did not respond. So, I decided to use the same flow to get us down on to the courts (more security), past the players, into the elevator and did just that with the help of a very nice player, Romeo. We were right outside the locker room where Justin was.
Well, a huffy female security guard wasn’t having it and had me and the seven other people that Romeo had escorted up move back down to the VIP holding area.
When I said to her lovingly, “My daughter just wants to meet Justin.” She stared at me like a cobra with fangs, saying, “Well, she won’t.”
NOW THIS WOMAN IS IMPORTANT because she represents the fears and doubts that surround us all the time. I cautioned Jade not to listen to her but to trust my flow and see where we go.
I would have waited there, but just as we were getting out of the elevator, Jamie Fox was walking by. I assumed that he was going to meet JB. So I got to meet Mr. Fox following him and his crew to the parking lot. He was going home.
Jade and I came back in with my daughter saying, “Let’s just go home. I give up.”
I responded, “I don’t know what will happen but be positive please.” We pushed the elevator button and got back into the 13 person elevator. Maybe to meet a few more people but who walks in next???
That’s right… Justin Bieber and with him, the fear and doubt head of the Convention Center security lady herself. “YOU AGAIN,” she hissed.
I calmly and coolly remained unaffected, creating an invisible field around us completely protected from her.
I gestured to Justin, and we slipped right into having a hands-on experience with him. It is so crystal clear why he is the awesome role model that he is.
He gracefully posed for this picture below with Jade. When I mentioned his basketball skills, happy with his performance that night, he lovingly mentioned to Jade that “we are the future”.
And I share his sentiment – go see his “Never Say Never Movie”! This film demonstrates how he came here to earth as a musical genius to encourage all of us to have more trust in the next generation and to give them the tools they need to be the talented, open, confident leaders that will us all into the light. 3D was cool because it’s like being at a live rock concert… ENJOY.
In a nut shell, the core of all lesson is about protecting the mind, the belief systems of tomorrow and today’s GURUS, the ones that will lead us into light.
I gave him my card as I said cooly, “If you ever needed yoga, health, holistic, green, I’m your girl.” He paused, looked at me straight in the eyes, and said, “I need that.”
His very cool manager, Scooter (costar of the movie), who discovered him and is in the business of making peoples lives and days, smiled and mouthed, “I’ll hold on to this for him.”
We walked out to the cars with him. Just as he left, up comes the reflection of EGO, fear and doubt, the security woman (I know God Bless you lady, you were only doing your job… and someone has to represent this for us as well) bitterly said, “You are lucky I like kids.” She had Jerome, who was very sweet, walk us out. I was so turned around that I did not know where I was parked . Jade was hungry, so thank goodness, the police officer actually knew where our car was. Wow, they were paying attention!
So when Jade and I left, I asked her – what did you learn?
She said – 1. Don’t listen to the doubters 2. Trust in the flow and God and 3. Always listen to my Mom.
Then, we called our girl, singer Jillian Speer, who had a birthday that day, and Jade got on the phone with her.
Jill said, “What are you up to?” Jade responded, “Absolutely nothing. We just want to take you to dinner.” TALK ABOUT PRESENCE. LOVE IT – MAYBE THE COOLEST MOMENT OF THE DAY.
THANK GOODNESS FOR ALL THE LESSONS – BLESSINGS – OPPORTUNITIES TO FLOW, KNOW & GROW.
Thank you Lon, Justin, Romeo, Magic, Security lady, police officers, ladies with the tickets, Neil who thought he may have some, the guy with the credentials, rain, the perfect amount of cash for parking, the car charger store for being right there – and all the security guards who somehow were co-orchestrating the unfolding of some magic and a moment that just may have been a very big highlight in my daughter’s life, and well, a really good moment in mine too…
Thanks for reading.
Love,
Rainbeau
