health, beauty, and fitness to help us “Love Living”.

There are many forms of nutrients. From Sunlight, to yoga, to clean air, the ocean and sublimation of energy while lovemaking with ourselves or our partners (meaning awakening our energy for a higher purpose).
Indulging in our habits is not really how we get the love we want.
With each dollar we spend, every bite we eat and every thought we think…let’s BE THE LOVE WE WANT.

1. Take digestive enzymes with every cooked meal no matter what.
2.Try to not eat starches and animal products together. Choose one and then digest it with plenty of plant-based, vegetable fibers to help break it down.
3. Try implementing more plant-based protein sources into your diet with: avocado, coconuts, mineral rich wild or black rice, gluten-free grains like quinoa and millet, legumes like chickpeas and lentils, or seaweeds like nori and kelp can be some great additions to old recipes.
Also explore how to get more nutrient bang-for-your-buck with SUPERFOODS, like hemp, chia and spirulina for a complete complex of amino acids. Taking a protein supplement like SUNWARRIOR can be great.
4. When and if you choose animal products, choose ORGANIC, Best quality, free range, grass fed and Eat it as a side dish.
5. ALWAYS GIVE THANKS FOR YOUR FOOD AND BE CONSCIOUS OF WHERE ITS COMING FROM AND THAT IT’S NOURISHING YOUR BODY AND LIFE.

Over the years… I have felt the need to eat animal products less and less, because vibrationally, it feels very dense and tends to close me down. It feeds my insecurities as well as fat cells and also, I am just too conscious of the animal that died to feed me…

However, if I feel in my body that I need animal products for medicinal purposes, I will eat it, though often a craving for animal protein can be a sign of what Traditional Chinese Medicine specialists describe as a depletion of “JING”, or vital essence, which can leave us feeling weak and tired.  What you may be looking to satisfy short term in food we consume, can be accomplished by addressing the depletion and taking a Jing boosting supplement like Deer Antler tincture.
This said… Food is still not my religion… But Love is.
Yes – Love is my religion and I am committed to waking up all aspects of my life to serve this intention…
To treading lightly on the planet and helping to sustain and support mama earth.
To opening my heart and body and awakening to higher and deeper sources of nutrients.

We are worthy, we are beautiful, we are whole and we are deserving of this divine birth right.

Bless, from our kitchen to yours.

New Website!

WOW!  Thank you for coming to this new site and page!  If I could express to you how good it is to be able to bring this to you and have a direct connection with my community, I would use the words grateful, humbled, happy, supported, and in AWE!

In the year or so since I last wrote, I produced the first of what I hope to be many ra’yoKa DVD’s, hosted about ten events, and visited and activated at least four continents.

Enough about me.  Now the company, Rainbeau Mars Lifestyles, is in full activation mode.  I went from being managed to managing myself and expanding our brand with a whole team.  The one to the many.  I never thought of myself as running the company and I do my best not to.  However, day by day and breath by breath, I find that my passion to bring what I have dreamed about my whole life and have manifested and created within me out into the world by far outweighs my once sole desire to float through my life, even just on the mat.  I found myself brought to my knees and in tears because of the trials and tribulations of running a company and juggling the act of finding the right team, meeting deadlines, learning and expanding the use of my left brain, and teaching my always heart-in-the-right-place team.  When our mission here at RML is about serving and supporting the planet, how can we go wrong?  Yet, for everything I would invite one to do, I would only ask that I evolve, balance, and learn myself.  So I will admit to growing pains.  Thus the story of a life, a business, and a team that has expanded and grown into its third year.  We are now ready to deliver products and content, from my house and heart to your own.  We hope to be a direct link to you (our teachers and community that we are here to support) with the intention that we will be innovative, approachable, fresh, educational and reusable all in an easy-to-swallow, hip, and sometime hop, pill.  I am so grateful for the relationships that have been created and the things that I have learned about human dynamics in office relationships and ultimately, within myself.

The work that I do has inspired me to let go of all the hype and find my flow.  I don’t need to know how or why.  I just listen, love, work, and do it again, for what I do is my offering.  My team has been a nurturing, hard working, inspired and a rehired group of reflections that have helped us grow roots.  I see the fruit coming.  We will keep planting more seeds and just cleaning out the rubbish, rather than getting distracted by the fruit of our labor.  I LOVE GARDENING.  I have learned that all can flow correctly when we first do the work internally.  Thus, I find myself enjoying my free time with my best friend and daughter, Jade, and my beautiful garden with it’s sixty trees.  We planted:  avocado, pomegranate, pineapple, guava, persimmon, figs, cherimoya and lots of ficus, bamboo, and of course, everything citrus.  I planted everything myself since I bought this house.  They, too, seem like children.  FEED THEM WATER, LOVE, SOIL AND SUNLIGHT AND WATCH THEM GROW.  And lastly, I added a rock corner, that I like to walk in and get natural acupressure just by clearing out the dead leaves from the bamboo, which just happens to be in the wealth corner behind our yoga studio/converted office.

We are here to serve, to keep breathing though our fears, and to align with our greater intentions.  My specialty has always been in the realm of media, and although I find myself wanting to gravitate to my strengths, I have found much to work on with regards to my weaknesses.  I often teach a quote that was inspired by my favorite yoga guru, Chuck Miller, “What is in the way… is the way.”  So, we keep on doing it, day by day, lesson by lesson; breathe, believe and receive that which is in front of us.  :)

I hope that what we will bring to you will be refreshing content that can inspire and even enhance your life in as many ways as it has my own.  The team and all the people with whom I’ve crossed paths are really a part of making this endeavor possible.

Welcome – I want to say HOME – or maybe Aum.  Stay a while.  Let’s connect.  Let me know how I may support you on your journey to enhancing your most beautiful you.

RML – Your one-stop shop to enhancing your health and beauty from within.

Best,

Rainbeau

Tied Up in Rainbows An LA yoga star taught us a new way to get fit

Rainbeau Mars demos a powerful balance.

When we met with Rainbeau Mars, yoga spokeswoman (pictured), we were a little intimidated. She’s taken her new yoga method, Ra’yoKa, to 24 countries, and rumor has it she’s about to direct a new yoga studio with attached resto in Hollywood (owned by none other than Juliano of Raw).

Turns out she’s charming and relaxed–though her yoga method, a martial arts/yoga fusion, kicked us into the stratosphere:

It takes concentration. Like Shaolin monks, we practiced a rolling Downward Dog with feet “tennis ball distance apart.” Rising up on our heels, we tucked our chins and rolled our chests toward the floor, ending in Cobra, then reversed the movement.

It takes power. We went from basic yoga poses, like Warrior I, into kung fu-style kicks, sword-drawing moves and face blocks.

It takes balance. With Zen focus, we moved from Half-Moon Pose to standing and back, never letting our free foot touch the ground.

And we sweated. “For people who feel they can’t relax, this is sportier,” explains Mars.

We’re over the moon for it.

Holding tree pose isn’t just about strength and balance—sometimes even seasoned yogis are felled by slick mats or floors. To combat such slippery situations, L.A.-based yoga expert Rainbeau Mars, the woman behind the Rainbeau Mars Signature Line by Adidas, has designed Yoga Slips, foot grips that wrap around the sole and lace up like ballet slippers. Made from recycled textiles and rubber, they provide traction without limiting the foot’s natural range of motion. $60;

002_dubaiWhat can I say? It took quite some time for me to get my bearings after the 24-hour trip home. In Dubai, we rode camels, belly danced, and went four-wheeling on the sand dunes, where I was in between utter awe and stomach nausea. :)

We stayed in an unbelievable hotel adjacent to the Jumeirah, and in many ways everything here could be described as the oasis between reality and absolute fiction. We saw the tallest building in the world, beautiful holy people dressed in robes, a remake of Cairo, and islands being built by man.

I was moved and slowed down by the delectable food, warm air, awesome beauty of the scenery, and people. I was inspired by all the great teachers, enthusiasm, and understanding about yoga.

One day, I taught four private classes: one to teachers, one to the press, and two to consumers that won a spot through a raffle. I also did many interviews and photo shoots, and just really had a great time.

The next day we traveled to Abu Dhabi for a private event with a sweet woman named Debbie (an incredible artist) and the Hilton Gardens. I was very touched by the artwork Debbie gave me, and I still have it centered to focus on in our office. She was so supportive of me coming over and I loved getting the opportunity to connect to 100 more of her friends and students in beautiful and rich Abu Dhabi. We had a wonderful time, and I hope to go back to the Emirates as early as this year.

Thank you to the Emirates and all the residents!

Winter Tips

You may have been feeling it already-the days get darker earlier as we head into the shortest, coldest days of the year. It’s time to go deeply inside; to meditate, as well as recalibrate. Find out how the patterns in your life are working, or not working, and make those changes inside. Slow down, write more, get caught up and organized and prepare yourself for next year. Eat some raw garlic and ginger to prepare you for the changing weather, food, and holiday stresses. Make time to play with friends and celebrate with family.

Look through drawers and choose to either break out the old decorations or throw away the junk. Take a break from using the sprinklers. Paint or make some holiday gifts like bath salts, home sprays, beaded necklaces, and lavender eye pillows. Wrap your presents in the comic section of the newspaper, use recycled paper bags with bows, and paint your own cards or gifts.
Eat lots of greens, black sesame seeds, and black or wild rice to keep the kidneys nourished. Enjoy miso soups and orange vegetables such as yams or carrots. It also may be a time to have some wild salmon or organic chicken soup if your body is feeling it.

My 2008 mantra was Celebrate to Elevate; in 2009, it will be to Align with the Divine. It is time that we refine and allow our greatness to shine through. You are me and I am you. We are all already family. May we illuminate shadows, and make peace with our enemies. May we love ourselves and each other even more. May we be more of what we came here for.

Pay attention, respond, and enjoy.

“Presence is the real present.”

HAPPY HOLY DAYS!

001_amsterdam The next day we traveled to Amsterdam to shoot adidas TV. It was a fun group and a lot of work for a day, but we pulled it off. You should be able to see us on the adidas TV website in January. Click here to see another campaign I participated in, you can see really cool moves by dancers, gymnasts, and myself.

Alex and I strolled the city at night, looking at the canals and unique areas of the city. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the excellent dinner we had with the whole adidas TV team.

010_mexicoI had a wonderful time in Mexico City; as of now there are very few pictures, but we’ll have more soon. I got to teach with David Light and Sharon Gannon, which was a wonderfully magical and inspirational experience. I ate lots of good Mexican food and spent a lot of time speaking Spanish, which was very good for me. I loved the adidas team there!

Jade and I shot “Good Day Colorado,” which should be on air on Christmas morning. YAY! If you live in Colorado, look out for it on FOX 31. I spent Thanksgiving with the family in Vail, where I also spent a lot of time sleeping in bed. I also got to meet Rocky Mountain Sports and teach yoga to ten editors at Natural Solutions, which was fantastic. It was the first time I’ve ever seen a whole magazine team so truly into the practice.

005_aplOn Sunday, October 19th, 2008 I attended the Santa Monica 5000. Although it was an early rise, it felt good to be a part of a drive for St. John’s Hospital, a place that I myself have been grateful for after a late-night fall or a mishap with a splinter. It felt great to be amongst such great athletes and to support great causes – St.John’s, Santa Monica, and a healthy community.

On November 18th we attended a party for Apl de.apl of the Black Eyed Peas-it was his birthday party and the launch of his Apl Foundation (committed to giving back to communities in the Philippines and throughout Asia). Wearing my new favorite shoes, I grooved all night long to performances by Apl, Taboo, Mosaic, and Carmit of the Pussycat Dolls. It’s a wonderful cause and was a wonderful night!
