Spring! ‘Tis the season of connecting— with ourselves, our intentions, our goals– and my favorite, getting back out in nature with Mama Earth. She is at her full splendor right now, with fruits ripening, flowers blossoming and bees buzzing. I feel the same natural tendency to shake off the more introverted times of winter and comfort food and choose instead, to commune outside, dance with friends and open up.
This Sunday, April 18, 2010, is Earth Day. I’m sure there are events all over the world to celebrate the glory that surrounds us and that we can often take for granted. The official day, I hear is the 22nd, but there are pretty much earth day celebrations every day this month. If you or your friends happen to be in the San Diego area or nearby, I encourage you to join us at the 20th Annual Multi Cultural Earth Day in Balboa Park. The event, which I’ll be helping to host, celebrates the environment and has amazing live music (DID I SAY I’ll BE TEACHING and accompanied by THE AMAZING MAKEPEACE BROTHERS). It’s free fun and funky beats that will be just what our bodies and souls have been craving. But whether you attend an Earth Day event or not, take that time and spend it with friends, family, your community, and be with our mama Earth, provider of all things perfect, healing and whole. Take off your shoes and walk around barefoot. Feel the Earth beneath your feet, between your toes. Feel the grass. Smell the roses. Watch some birds. Appreciate the endless cycle and natural occurrence of life. What a reflection of symmetry, beauty, boundless miracles and really everything we are all looking for right?
It’s important to take these moments for the pause or end of the chapter to absorb life because there will always be the next thing begging us to become a run on sentence. There is so much happening at the Rainbeau Mars Lifestyles Holistic Headquarters, (thank goodness for angels, like Swan, Abby, Tamara, Dina, Stephanie, Jade, Evolve, Lon, Matt and Kelly) that I “get” to remind myself to stay grounded, present and to walk that which I talk about.
Come June you can invigorate and revitalize your practice with me through my ra’yoKa Teacher Training or check into my public classes that will be going on, it looks like in Santa Monica. Keep checking in for the latest on what’s happening, or if you have any questions, please email Swan at questions@rainbeaumars.com.
Also, we are doing our best to round up questions from Facebook, Twitter, the website, Youtube and even Myspace, so that we can blog about them an get right back to you. Please send health and fitness related questions to questions@rainbeaumars.com.
Blessings and Happy Earth Day!
